    Future meetings of the Club are listed below, together with each meeting's primary program topic (or topics, when two programs are scheduled) and the person who will be presenting any "lecture"-type program.

January 10, 2005 -- meeting host Becky N:
   Orcas -- a 45-minute video about these whales and about how various families ("pods") have different cultures
   Hypothermia -- understanding the dangers, preventing hypothermia, and emergency responses (Michael D)

February 7. 2005 -- meeting host Phyllis A:
(Set for the first Monday of the month, to avoid colliding with Valentine's Day.)
   Digital photography workshop (using a "digital darkroom" to edit and enhance digital photos, and techniques for preparing them for a Web posting or E-mail transmission (Michael D)

   Using a compass -- how to use a hand-held "bearings" compass and a boat compass in planning an outing and on the water (Bob N)
   Understanding the tides -- about the "why, how, and when" of tides (Michael D)

May 9, 2005 -- meeting host Patricia P:
   "The Troubled Waters of Puget Sound" -- a video documentary about ecological concerns affecting Puget Sound waters

June 13, 2005 -- meeting host Agnes E:
   Working with and understanding tide tables and other planning tools, as part of a meeting focusing on how to plan individual or group kayaking trips

Meeting dates for the second half of 2005 cannot be set until the library begins scheduling meeting room use in mid-May.
