Club Outings:
The Club maintains a "one trip a week" outing schedule, with all trips scheduled for weekend days. Proposed outing locations for the Club's Spring/Summer 2005 Schedule are under the "Ideas" link immediately below.Spring/Summer '05 ideas

Oct./Nov. 2004 outing schedule
The Club creates its outing schedule using a volunteer "host" system. Those who want kayaking opportunities in the local area are asked to "give in order to receive" by "hosting" two or three trips every six months. Acting as an outing host requires only
(1) picking a date for a trip when you commit to be available (or to find a substitute host, if your circumstances change after the trip has been scheduled);
(2) selecting a kayaking "destination" (which can be saltwater or a lake, near your home or some place you would like to visit);
(3) working with others to calendar outings;
(4) checking driving directions for accuracy (typically already written, and available on the Website for review);
(5) "being there" on the date of the outing (if the outing has not been canceled); and
(6) making sure all participants have signed a release.

Club Meetings:
The Club has a monthly meeting schedule. Meetings usually occur (but not always) on the second Monday of each month.Meetings are usually held at Shelton's William G. Reed Timberland Library, 710 W. Alder. Meetings in the library are open to the public and begin at 6:15 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 to allow visiting before the meeting). Meetings usually end around 7:45 p.m.
The next ordinary business meeting will occur in January 2005; instead of a meeting in Dec. 2004, the Club will have a Christmas party.
